New for 2013! REALTOR® Rally on Wednesday
On Wednesday, February 13, KAR is putting together more events so our members can have an even bigger voice with legislators in Frankfort. 2013 KAR President John May is emphasizing deeper and more engaging political involvement from members and is requesting your commitment to attend:

9am - REALTOR® picture in front of the Kentucky State Capitol - all members are invited to attend - the more who show up, the more impact we will have.

9:30am - REALTOR® Rally in the Capitol Rotunda - KAR is putting together a list of speakers that will address issues in real estate. This will be a great opportunity to pack the Capital building with members to show our support for the real estate industry.

10:30am - Hill Visits - each local association arranges visits with members of their delegation to voice their thoughts on issues important to the industry (please work with your local association to plan schedules). This is a great time to sit down in person with your legislator and let them know how important real estate is to the economy.

Noon - Post Hill Visit Debriefing - join KAR back at the Capital Plaza Hotel for a complimentary box lunch and follow-up discussions from each region to hear about legislative meetings and Hill Visit successes.

6pm (Wednesday evening) - Legislative Reception - a meet and greet at the Captial Plaza Hotel with legislators and other officials in a relaxed atmosphere with food, drinks and fun. Stop by and interact with members and lawmakers alike.
 

Members can purchase a REALTOR Rally t-shirt for a $15 (fair share) contribution to RPAC. Members are encouraged to wear these during Wednesday's REALTOR Rally at the Capitol. Shirts can be purchased by clicking here (log-in and look for the REALTOR Rally Shirt link under Contributions). To guarantee your size, please have your order placed by Friday, January 25.

This meeting features a who’s who in the political arena ... from elected officials to regulators to representatives from the Democrat and Republican parties. The three-day event offers you the opportunity to gain insights into what’s happening in the State House.  REALTOR® members will be available to meet personally with elected officials. You will also be involved in discussions and decision making on how KAR evolves throughout the year by attending committee meetings and information sessions. You’ll also have the chance to participate in a special legislative reception to meet and greet the lawmakers from your region.

The meetings are open to all REALTORS® who wish to attend.

Room rates are $88/night per room or $175/night per suite.  Mention KAR and call (502.227.5100) before January 25 and receive the special room rate. Secondary hotels are available including Best Western (502.695.6111) and Hampton Inn (502.223.7600). Cut-off dates are January 31. Other hotels include Fairfield Inn (502.695.8881) and Holiday Inn Express (877.863.4780). Call for rates and availability.
