REALTOR® of the Year

Carl Tackett, a broker with Coldwell Banker McMahan Company in Georgetown and member of the Lexington Bluegrass Association of REALTORS® (LBAR), was named KAR’s 2016 REALTOR® of the Year. Tackett has been a REALTOR® for over 27 years and has served the real estate industry at the local, state and national levels. He served as president of KAR in 2007 and treasurer in 2005. He currently serves on the Delegate Body and the past president committee. He has been a member of the legal affairs, governmental affairs and economic and local issues committees as well as the legislative quick response team and served as a Trustee for both the Kentucky Real Estate Education Foundation (KREEF) and the REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC). Tackett holds the Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI), At Home With Diversity, Military Relocation Professional and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designations. He is a State Political Coordinator for two state Senators, has served as a Federal Political Coordinator and is an RPAC major investor where he is a member of the National Association of REALTORS®’ (NAR) RPAC President’s Circle and RPAC Hall of Fame. Tackett was also a member of the first Leadership Academy for NAR. He currently serves as president of LBAR, a position he also held in 2003, and was honored as the LBAR REALTOR® of the Year in 2004. In his community, Tackett has been active on the YMCA board of directors, the Small Business Advisory Council, the REALTOR® Community Housing Foundation and is a graduate of Leadership Scott County. He served our country through military service in the US Army with a rank of Specialist 4th Class as a tank commander and company clerk.
